Great news  for Nottinghamshire based multi-award winning international Architecture, Masterplanning, Interior and Graphic Design Studio Benoy.

Benoy, who have their HQ in Nottingham, will be designing a major commercial development in Wenzhiu, China, after winning an international competition. 

INCITY MEGA for SCPG will be a 2.6million sq ft development and will be the first commercial complex in the ‘MEGA’ product line. 
 



HS2 plans reveal a new tunnel near East Midlands Airport is to be part of the plans for the new HS2 line.

The power station will feed into the national grid and will be built just west of Kegworth whilst the tunnel will flow underneath land at the airport before crossing over the A6 leading to a 12m high viaduct, overt the A453 and moving on to Long Eaton. 

The Area Manager for the HS2 project, Conrad Jones said: “Effectively there will be a short tunnel in the area near the airport, and we will be talking about developing that design with the airport.”
 



A huge £1.9million of funding is handed to the University of Nottingham’s digital manufacturing project, the grant comes from The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

EPSRC’s executive chair, Professor Philip Nelson, said: “The adoption of advanced ICT techniques in manufacturing provides an enormous opportunity to improve growth and productivity within the UK.

“The effective implementation of these new technologies requires a multidisciplinary approach and these projects will see academic researchers working with a large number of industrial partners to fully harness their potential, which could generate impact across many sectors.
 



Parcel giant DPD are to create up to 209 jobs after they announced their relocation to a city based distribution centre on Bleinham Park Road. The new centre covers 60,000 sq ft and will “cover a more optimum delivery area” to 133 new delivery routes. 

Dwain McDonalds, chief executive of DPD said:  “I’m delighted to announce the opening of our new Nottingham Distribution Centre, it will enable us to increase our capacity and help ensure we continue to maintain the high level of services our customers have come to expect from us."
