The Automated Distribution and Manufacturing Centre (ADMC) is being created as a national centre of excellence for automation. The ADMC will attract businesses of all sizes to draw on its expertise, equipment and facilities to improve their competitiveness. The project is being led by Ashfield District Council, who own the site and constructing the ADMC. Our focus is on ensuring that every business can benefit from some form of automation.
In securing the land for the ADMC we have been able to identify a larger site. This means as well as building the ADMC we can also develop the wider site with businesses and jobs allied to the aims of the ADMC – automation, innovation and high value manufacturing. This provides Ashfield the opportunity to create a cluster of these businesses alongside a national centre of excellence, making a significant contribution to the local and regional economy.
This 30 acre site is ideally located opposite Sutton Parkway railway station and well connected to the A38 and M1. As adevelopment site, it is ideally located in the heart of the country with excellent transport links, with access to over of 60% of the UK markets within two hours.
We want to offer a space where suitable local businesses can locate to enable them to expand and benefit from the automation and innovation infrastructure, alongside bringing new businesses, jobs and investment to the site. We are producing a masterplan for the site and securing outline planning permission. From there, we will be bringing the site to market, looking for developers or occupiers who align with our vision and will benefit from being located alongside the ADMC.
