Formed in 1990, Ramtech specialises in the design and manufacture of wireless technology solutions for holiday parks and the construction industry.
The company originally started out as three separate businesses - Ramtech Electronics, Ramtech Systems and Mulberry and they operated as technical designers, contracted by other businesses. It was later, when East Midlands Electricity approached the company about a number of security issues affecting the Lincolnshire caravan industry, that Ramtech started to develop the prototype for its first major product - the 4000.
The 4000, a wireless security system for caravans and holiday parks, was the first of its kind and despite a few initial technical issues, increasing competition and the withdrawal of East Midlands Electricity from the project, Ramtech persevered and continued to build the innovative solution.
Ramtech is now well established as the market leader in the provision of park wide wireless alarm monitoring systems and boasts over 250 parks as customers with over 30,000 Ramtech alarm units installed across the UK.
Through on-going investment in R and D the company has continued to develop its product range and now offers a comprehensive monitoring system to give holiday home owners greater security and peace of mind. As well as providing security monitoring the system can also be configured to provide; carbon monoxide and smoke detection, emergency panic buttons and individual appliance protectors. Also new for 2012 is the addition of integrated sensors to monitor for water leaks and power failures.
Services also include WiFi for holiday parks providing internet access on parks, including touring caravan parks, allowing holiday home owners to email, chat, tweet, facebook and surf just as they can at home. The company also installs and maintains wireless CCTV systems, providing additional security and peace of mind for holiday home owners and park visitors.
In 2010 Ramtech diversified its product offer with the launch of the Wireless Emergency System, a battery powered fire point system specifically designed for the construction industry which is quick and easy to install and can be used time and time again. Developed by Ramtech in conjunction with two major construction companies, the Wireless Emergency System plays a key role in helping businesses meet the increasing Health and Safety requirements of the industry, providing an effective temporary fire system for construction sites. WES has been embraced by the construction industry and Ramtech has sold over 4,000 units and is currently supplying over 20% of the top 100 construction companies in the UK.
Ramtech originally started out in the city centre but as the business grew they located to bigger premises just outside the city centre. The customer service, sales and R and D teams are based at the Nottingham headquarters which provides a good central location with excellent transport links for reaching customers across the UK.
In the 20 years it has been in business Ramtech has gone from strength to strength and with more investment in marketing, sales and product development the business will continue to innovative, increasing its product range further.
