Nottingham is home to over 90,000 university and college students making it one of the largest centre’s of further and higher education in the East Midlands.
Over 54 per cent of the city region’s population holds a degree level or higher qualification ensuring businesses located in Nottingham are able to access a highly skilled workforce.The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University are both centres of research excellence and have made the city well known for its innovation, intellectual capital and a long standing history of industrial collaboration.
The two universities have range of specialist centres in fields including biotechnology, low carbon, business and law, digital media, manufacturing and art and design.
The University of Nottingham also has international links with campuses in Malaysia and Ningbo, China.
Nottingham also has three leading further education colleges – New College Nottingham, South Nottingham College and Vision West Notts – which is the largest provider of apprenticeships in the country. The colleges not only provide an excellent talent pool but also provide professional training for companies in Nottingham.
