Development Opportunities

Nottingham is undergoing one of the most far-reaching, substantial and exciting development programmes taking place in any of the UK's cities.

More than £3.5 billion is being invested in and around Nottingham, a combination of public and private sector funds, covering transport, infrastructure and the built environment.

The challenge for Nottingham is to retain and enhance the distinctive character of the attractive city with its fine heritage of architecture and public spaces whilst developing quality and innovative business spaces and stylish, contemporary homes.

The regeneration programme in the city centre is based around three major designated zones bordering the city centre. The Southside and The
Waterside have huge development potential and are bringing about environmental improvements and enhanced linkages to the adjoining areas, whilst The Eastside is set to contain Nottingham's biggest office development, EastsideCity. Added to this are exciting projects on the Siemens and Boots sites in Beeston, which will bring a further potential 148 acres of office, residential and leisure development.

Recent developments have also included the construction of a Science Park in Beeston. The development opposite the University of Nottingham is part of the Science City programme awarded to Nottingham in 2005, which aims to create over 20,000 jobs by 2020.

The ambitious development programme continues to inspire investors and developers, ensuring Nottingham will remain one of Britain's most innovative and attractive cities.
