Nottingham is served by the Midland Mainline and enjoys excellent rail links across the UK – direct trains to London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Norwich and Cardiff. Government recently announced that by 2032 The High Speed Rail (HSR) network will have a link to East Midlands Hub Station in Toton this will dramatically reduce Journey times. Passenger from Nottingham will be able to reach London in 68 minutes, Birmingham in 36 minutes and Heathrow in 87 minutes.

Nearby, Retford and Newark are served by the London to Edinburgh East Coast Mainline. Newark is only 82 minutes to London Kings Cross.

Locally, commuters are well-served by the Robin Hood Line which provides direct and regular services to the City Centre from Worksop, Mansfield, Kirkby in Ashfield. Newstead and Hucknall.

NET Line 1 operates between Nottingham Station and Hucknall, with a spur line to Phoenix Park close to Junction 26 M1.

The re-development of Nottingham train station and transport hub will only enhance this offer - The £500m project to build two new tram lines to the South and South West of the city linking to the redeveloped railway station and transport hub will commence early 2012 and will link workforce to the city’s major employers including: NG2 Business Park, the Queen’s Medical Centre, The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Science Park. The full network will be operational by 2014.

The redevelopment of the train station will have a major catalytic effect on the development in the Southside and Eastside of the city and could potentially bring forward a further 7000 jobs.
