East Midlands Airport, which recently secured Best Regional UK Airport and UK Airport of the Year at this year’s British Travel Awards 2011, is only a 20 minute drive from the city.
It has direct flights to 90 International destinations and is also the second largest freight airport in the UK. The skylink bus connects Nottingham Train Station with East Midlands Airport every 30 minutes, 7 days a week. The airport is also served through East Midlands Parkway rail station and a shuttle bus service.
To the north, Robin Hood Airport is set for further rapid expansion, as a result of an £18 million pound project to provide a direct link to the M18. Opened in 2005, the airport already enjoys direct flights to Europe and Central America.
Birmingham International is also around 45 minutes away from Nottingham, and provides world wide flights to destinations including Europe, USA and Canada.
