Road
Nottingham has a renowned distribution network, being at the heart of the UK’s motorway system - with easy access to the M1, M42, as well as A1, ensuring businesses, customers and suppliers are all within easy reach.
Significant public investment is helping to ensure that Nottingham remains accessible, at the heart of the UK’s road system. Over £340m was invested to widen the M1 as it passes through the county and a further £378m investment will see the A46 dualled to the East of the City up to Newark.
Further recent North/South improvements to the nearby A1 and East/West through the creation of the Mansfield Ashfield Regeneration Route (MARR) ensure that businesses in the Nottingham area will continue to be well-connected to suppliers, workforce and markets.
Bus services in Nottingham are already recognised as the best outside of London. Regular bus routes give commuters easy access to towns and villages in Nottinghamshire and beyond. There is also the City Loop service where people can access all areas of the city every 10 minutes from Monday to Saturday. The Loop also includes the major business parks around the city.
Ongoing works to deliver new bus stations at Mansfield and Newark will help to ensure the sustainable long-term development of the Nottingham area.
