Over 50 regional and national companies have chosen Nottingham as their headquarter base.

Major employers include Capital One, Boots, Experian, Nottingham City Council and HM Revenue & Customs, these companies make up a large percentage of Nottingham's 300,000 strong workforce.

Other key employers include Ofsted, E.ON, Siemens, Rolls Royce, John Lewis, HBOS, HSBC, Mercedes Benz, Coutts, Toyota, Browne Jacobson, Geldards LLP, Eversheds, Fortis Bank.

Nottingham also welcomed Specsavers in 2008 who relocated their UK operations centre to the ng2 business park near the city centre. This involved the creation of 300 jobs, including the relocation of call centre staff and the addition of finance staff. The £643,544 per annum deal is the biggest business property deal in Nottingham since 2006.
