Expansion will fuel growth of energy company

13 July 2012

A NOTTINGHAM renewable energy company has expanded its business in the city..

Chinook, with premises in Lenton and Dunkirk, has leased additional space at Nottingham's No.1 Science Park to extend its European headquarters and create a centre of excellence.

The new site features a "command and control centre" which allows Chinook to remotely monitor and control its recycling plants on both sides of the Atlantic.

Chinook has now said it is working closely with the city council to explore further opportunities for major new multi million pound investments which could create hundreds of new jobs. No details are available at this stage.

Councillor Graham Chapman, of the city council, said: "Nottingham is renowned for high tech businesses and is one of only six Science Cities in the UK, so we are delighted with Chinook's commitment to expanding within the city which will enhance our reputation as an 'Energy City'."

Harry Perry, Chinook's technical director, said: "This expansion will fuel our growth and significantly contribute to Nottingham's Growth Plan"
