College's £3m investment to boost engineering and maths

.SOUTH Nottingham College will invest £3m over the next few years in science, technology, engineering and maths.



The project to promote the four subjects has been dubbed Stem and it has been created in partnership with the New Engineering Foundation.

The college is working in partnership with employers, schools and universities to support and deliver the Stem Strategy.

Partners include Toyota Manufacturing UK, the University of Nottingham and Kia Motors UK.

College Principal Malcolm Cowgill said: "The Stem Manifesto makes specific pledges which we will implement over the coming months and years.

"This manifesto ensures South Nottingham College plays a key role in meeting the needs of employers in the region and will inform the college's planning decisions over the next five years.

"Preparing students for a successful and sustainable career is central to our work as a college. Equally we have a responsibility to support the economy across the region with staff who possess the right knowledge and transferable skills to meet labour market needs."
