Designers unite to share dreams and inspire passion through collaboration

Fashion Designer Susi Henson of Eternal Spirits and furniture designer Sarah Davenport of Sarah Davenport Design used to meet each January to discuss their professional and personal hopes and dreams for the twelve months ahead.

They found the experience so valuable that in 2010 they opened the tradition to their creative friends and inspirations. The first event in February took place in the Nottingham City Council House Dining Room featuring inspirational personalities including Piers Roberts of the World renowned Designersblock; Honorary Italian Consul and Architect Valeria Passetti; Writer, copywriter and entrepreneur Mark Shaw, and Susi Henson and Sarah Davenport themselves. Guests were invited to bring picnics to enjoy whilst watching 13 contributors reveal their plans for the year, and the event was filmed by Owen Tooth to project the resulting 'Designer Resolutions' to an International audience.

The first event was such a success that it was pronounced a 'Revolution not Resolution.' Whilst presentations varied immensely in content and style, they carried a united message of embracing change, being fearless and working together. A short video comprising the summaries of each personality was taken by the Cllr Malcolm Wood and Elena Lai of the Nottingham City Council to Terrassa near Barcelona to represent the voice of Nottingham to over 30 European cities.

Following popular demand Susi Henson and Sarah Davenport are holding the second 'Designer Resolutions' Event on 24th of June 2010 which is Midsummer Night. The Midsummer Night Dreams Picnic will be focused on positivity and inspiration and contributors have been challenged to communicate 'Dreams' through their creativity. The night will be filmed for International release and played out to a selected audience of around 100 people who are again invited to bring picnics.

'Designers Resolutions was created to give those we believe in a platform through which they can be themselves, and share their unique voices and motivations.' explains Susi Henson of Eternal Spirits. 'As we continue to hold and film events we will create a growing International readership of people who can be inspired by the narrative as it develops. For the Midsummers Night Dream Picnic we anticipate an atmosphere of magic and imagination. We want to create an environment to allow the audience to escape for a moment from the challenges of life and experience real dreams from real people in the feeling of fantasy and theatre. We want to give people hope that through working together we can embrace change for the best, and strength to be positive, inspiring and amazing'

The Designer Resolutions Midsummer Nights Dreams will take place on the 24th June 2010 at 7pm in the Ballroom of the Nottingham City Council House.
