Spool celebrates Big Screen and Small Screen success

With Nottingham filmmaker Shane Meadows' This Is England 88' about to screen on television, Spool, the Nottingham-based film and post-production company is celebrating its involvement in both the TV series and Paddy Considine's new feature film Tyrannosaur, which is already generating BAFTA and Oscar buzz.

This Is England 88' (Warp Films) begins a three-part run on Channel 4 on Tuesday 13th, 14th & 15th December and picks up the story from the BAFTA-winning This Is England 86' TV series. Spool have continued their successful collaboration with Warp Films by completing all sound post production for the series and for Tyrannosaur (Inflammable Films / Warp X), which has just garnered three awards at the prestigious British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) in the following categories:

Best British Independent Film
Best Debut Director for Paddy Considine
Best Actress for Olivia Colman

The BIFAs add to Tyrannosaur's impressive awards tally which includes the World Cinema Award and Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Spool is one of the few Dolby approved post-production houses outside London. Its highly skilled team - many of whom trained at the neighbouring Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, coupled with its world-class equipment and service are attracting not just the top names in the film world but also TV and top corporate brands to Nottingham.
