Experian agrees Italian joint venture

17 April 2012

Experian has signed an agreement to form a joint venture with Cerved Group to provide enhanced consumer credit information services to the Italian market.

The Nottingham-headquartered company's joint venture will create a "comprehensive" consumer information bureau by combining its existing consumer credit business in Italy with Cerved's consumer credit data.

"The joint venture will utilise Experian's bureau technology and value-added products to provide innovative new services to the Italian consumer credit market," the company told the Stock Exchange.

Once the agreement receives regulatory clearance, the joint venture company, Experian Cerved Information Services, will be established with initial gross assets of about $14m (£9m). Experian will own a majority stake in the company.
