Little bit about bAntum...
Berny bAntum has cooked up something rare. The Japanese Bantam chicken described as 'small, aggressive and spirited' encapsulates the essence of the label. bAntum offers designer and uniquely printed and styled clothes that fit the smaller perfectly formed streetwise gent.
"If the devil is in the detail then bAntum is one horny little devil" said Zeitgeist magazine WAD magazine winter 07/08 of this new clothing label.
bAntum clothing is synonomous with prints in unusual and unique places, well hidden pockets in the sweats for your secret treats; fun stuff in out of the way places, great design right down to the wash labels...
Creator Simeon Hartwig and The bAntum label were recently nominated for the prestigious Sir Paul Smith Nottingham Business Venture Award, and after enjoying local success and acclaim the Label now has boutique stockists throughout the UK, with an additional retailer now located in Moscow, a hop and a peck in the right direction for world domination.
So what has helped bAntum on his way through the creative streets of Nottingham? Well the 3 month Business Start-up program at Nottingham Trent Univertsity's Hive propelled the label forward; Simeon's mentor kept pecking at his heel keeping Berny bAntum's creator focused and above all kept him in check with regards to essential none creative stuff like VAT and accounts.
Simeon also believes that Nottingham's Designer Forum gave him invaluable industry knowledge. Of course the support of bAntum Clothing's family, friends and Nottingham's Inward Investment team - Vision Nottingham helping Simeon form links with Nottingham creative community have also helped bAntum make their mark not only in Nottingham but also on the rest of the world (well one small chicken hop at a time).
The bAntum family was spawned over the last year to include notts finest hip hop producers the Elements and nottz beat boxer Lippicool... and just in case we get any bad payers we proudly added pro notts cage fighter Big Kay!
